Kavouras

1. Location and geomorphology

Uninhabited islet to the north of Antiparos, near the northern part of the islet Diplo. Also known as Epano Feira. Its ground is typically Cycladic, rocky with bushy vegetation.

Archaeological findings dating back to the Protocycladic period have been found on Kavouras.

2. Fauna

The sea surrounding Kavouras is shallow. Due to his natural habitat, the isle is a part of a station network for migrant water birds. Kavouras also shelters wild rabbits.

A ministry decision aiming to protect and preserve Kavouras’s natural habitat has declared it an Area of Particular Natural Beauty.
